ClearAccess uses role-based access control so that the people operating an Organization have the right authority without sharing responsibility. Organization Types control the labels shown in the product; they do not change the meaning of an admission decision or an audit record.

Estate relationship

A Resident Associate is an additional person authorized for a particular Estate Unit. It is not a platform-wide role: a School, Office, or Shared Space can use its own relationship model without inheriting household language.

Role Details

Owner

The Owner is the person who created the Organization. They have final control over billing, ownership, and top-level policy. Every Organization must have at least one Owner.

Organization Manager

Organization Managers run day-to-day operations. Estate terminology presents them as Estate Managers. They can see movement records, manage members, and enforce Organization policy. See the Manager Guide for more.

Organization Member / Resident

A Resident is an Estate Organization Member with an active Unit relationship. Other Organization Types may use labels such as Student, Employee, or Member. The ability to generate guest passes is granted by Organization Type and policy, not by a label alone. Learn more in the Resident Guide.

Gate Operator / Gate Team

Gate Operators are the people accountable for verification at an Access Point. The Estate profile calls them the Gate Team. Their interface is optimized for scanning QR codes and recording a defensible admission decision. They do not receive sensitive member data or billing authority by default.
